My Miracle

I recently met a barista at a new coffee shop I’ve been going to. You have to switch up your writing/work spots “when everybody knows your name. And they’re always glad you came.” Sorry, I got carried away with the Cheers theme song, but what the heck. As I listened to her speak, help customers and interact with her co-workers behind the counter, I could tell she had a sweet, loving, caring and motherly spirit. She’s older woman. Like most observant people do when they see you focused, working away on your laptop, she asked what I was working on. After I told her, she explained how her husband is romantic: he leaves love letters for her find, notes and does other romantic things to show his love and appreciation for her. In my mind I said: that sounds like my character David in my novel. She goes on to say that her husband is an avid reader and a good writer, flirting with the idea of writing a novel himself. I told her to tell him to write it because my experience was an invigorating and fulfilling one. I added: “but you have to be committed and disciplined. I don’t mind sitting in one spot for eight more hours writing.” She was inspired so much that she told her husband about me.  Hopefully he’ll make the commitment.

About twenty minutes ago, as I was walking in, she was leaving. She stopped by my table and said. “I prayed for you because I want you to find a good literary agent.” She goes to say I believe in you. I’m sending good energy your way.” To be honest, I was having a bad day but she lifted my spirits with her sweet and caring spirit, equally important because she cared enough about me to pray. You could ask people you know to pray for you and it’ll slp their mind.  Before I went to sleep last night I prayed: “God show me a miracle. It could be big or small. Well folks, my prayer was answer today. For me, the woman praying for me was my big miracle: for a total stranger to believe in, no wait, not see potential, but see the end before you get to your place of success, is miracle within itself. I haven’t had strangers pray for me like this but I met so many people writing in different coffee shops where my success has been confirmed. That’s also a miracle within itself.

May you continue to encounter the substance of things you hope for…I believe in you,and will continue to keep you before the throne. 🙂

I think I’m going to include my answered prayers and other things God has done for me in my blogs to build the faith of others. Not being vocal about my testimonies was something God spoke to me about a few weeks ago.

      • I love that idea. You know where I stand on that issue, so I fully support it. Other than you and one other friend, I don’t really talk much about faith and the testimonies. This will help people like me not only spiritually, but help us all share the word. I really, really, love this idea.
